SOMATIC PSYCHOTHERAPY

MY APPROACH

MY  APPROACH

headshot water back.jpg

Welcome! We all need a safe space to feel seen, heard, and supported. In my experience, the therapeutic process is accelerated when we work with specific tools and practices to bring us into the present moment and into our bodies.

All of the modalities I draw on have been transformative in my own life—my training in mindfulness, yoga and other body-centered practices, my understanding of attachment and how our earliest relationships shape and impact us throughout our life, and my study of trauma’s profound impact on our lives and how to heal it. I pay attention to the “unconscious” parts of our selves—they can be sources of creativity and power or keep us stuck in unhealthy patterns of living and relating. I’m also attuned to the ways in which social dynamics, gender norms, power, and privilege impact our lives.

I’m grateful for the therapeutic training and life experiences that have led me to offer you this space of reflection and transformation. By including the body in therapy, we can do so much more than just “talk about” your problems. Instead, therapy can be a dynamic and experiential space offering new possibilities of feeling and living.

"When you touch one thing with deep awareness,
 you touch everything.
